SOOFI was created in the memoriam of Dr. Samuel Onyejindu Oleka after his unexpected, tragic passing due to a massive hemorrhagic stroke. Before his passing, Dr. Oleka suffered from an initial mild stroke that left him with a few residual deficits. Those deficits required rehabilitation services and medical items for recovery. While covered by insurance, but only for a limited time. Afterward, he was expected to pay out of pocket.
This may be a familiar story to you, or maybe that of someone you know and love.
We at SOOFI recognize the financial hardship on stroke survivors and their families that requires dipping into a savings account, cutting monthly costs, or foregoing happy activities that bring the family together, to afford the care and resources necessary for recovery.
We know.
And we get it.
… because we’ve been there.
This is why we aim to help.
We are dedicated to stroke awareness and providing resources through aid to equip people with the tools to live a healthier life.
